Chapter Quartets

Our Chapter Quartets have been audited by our chapter leadership to ensure that they will be delightful and enjoyable. While these quartets often appear on a Peninsulaires show, they are also available for your special events.

InFlux

InFlux is an a cappella quartet singing in the Barbershop style. All four members belong to the Barbershop harmony Society and also perform with The Peninsulaires Men's Chorus.

InFlux will delight you with music that spans the 20th Century and into the 21st: Classic Barbershop; Swing; Contemporary; Rock; & Pop.

Bascom Avenue 4

Bascom Avenue 4 is John Hinkle (bass); Jeff Harris (baritone); Nigel Endersby (lead); Charles Borrecco (tenor).

Metro Gnomes

The Metro Gnomes have been singing together for quite a while and enjoy performing for birthdays, charitable events, parties, and valentines. We are John Jones (bass), Ric King (baritone), John Wooldridge (lead), and Terry Moore (tenor).

Spellbound

The “Spellbound” quartet was formed in February 2014 and is comprised of four experienced Barbershoppers from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tenor, Paul Engel, joined the quartet in June 2016 and has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society since 1967. He currently sings with the “Voices in Harmony Chorus” of San Jose and is an arranger and for many years was a Certified Judge in the Music Category for the Barbershop Harmony Society. He was the tenor in "Blood Sweat, and Years", 2015 Far Western District Senior Quartet Champion.

Lead, Steve Sammonds, joined the Barbershop Harmony Society in 1988 and was the Director of the Peninsulaires Chorus from 1989 to 2014. He has sung with a number of previous quartets and has recently started performing in local community theater productions.

Baritone, Steve Kirch, who has been singing as long as he can remember, joined the Society in 2000 and has competed multiple times at the Barbershop Harmony International Competitions, first with the Bay Area Metro “Pot O Gold” chorus and with “Voices In Harmony” since its formation.

Bass, Jim Sherman, started singing Barbershop Harmony in 1964 and was the bass of the 1975 Far Western District Quartet Champion, “The San Francisco Storm Door & Whale Oil, Co.” In addition, he has been part of senior quartets earning three Silver and two Bronze medals at the International Senior Quartet Competitions.
