  5. Sharing the joy of barbershop harmony through community outreach.

The Vision of the Peninsulaires Chorus is:

To be the Peninsula’s premier organization for men who love to sing.

And includes this Long-Range vision description:

Each member experiences a) the joy of hearing his own voice in four part harmony; b) the friendship and fraternity of his fellow singers; c) the personal, social, musical, and leadership skills he has attained through his membership in the Palo Alto-Mountain View Chapter and Peninsulaires Chorus.

Our groups embrace and perform music predominantly in the barbershop style and may include other a cappella styles. Through educational and coaching opportunities provided by the Chorus, Chapter, District, and International Society, they continually improve their public and contest performances.

Chapter meetings and chorus rehearsals are well planned, musically satisfying, and fun. The chapter and chorus are a diverse group of men, brought together by the joy of harmonizing in the barbershop style. The members embrace and perform a cappella music, with the barbershop art form as the root of their existence. The various activities enrich and energize the members through fellowship, fun and the joy of singing. With their performances and their alliances with all other local vocal music groups, the Palo Alto-Mountain View chapter and Peninsulaires Chorus are leaders in the musical life of their community, employing and enjoying the same educational opportunities for improvement available to all singers.

Our performance and learning opportunities are designed to meet the needs of singers desiring to be ever-improving while enjoying those opportunities on a musical level. Our chorus and chapter quartets continually strive for improvement.

We create strategic partnerships with other local music organizations to spread the knowledge and understanding of barbershop harmony. We select educational and performance opportunities that highlight our singing so we may emphasize the unique and prized qualities of the barbershop style. As a part of the largest supporter of vocal music in the world, we will seek to partner with area school choral groups, music educators, and their organizations.
